Amtrak Train Derails – Between Olympia and Seattle, WashingtonOn December 18, 2017, on its inaugural trip through a $181 million rebuilt corridor designed to make the trip safer and more reliable, an Amtrak train derailed between Olympia and Seattle Washington, injuring at least one hundred people and killing at least three.

According to reports, shortly before the derailment, the train was going in excess of 80 miles per hour in a 30 mile an hour speed limit zone.
